1) Taste of Darkness, Hyderabad
You could literally taste darkness here. This completely out-of-the-box theme plays around with your senses. Here you get to taste while you can’t see. The restaurant is absolutely dark and you aren’t even allowed to take in light emitting devices like your phone inside the restaurant. Good luck experiencing the food here.
2) 21 Fahrenheit, Mumbai
For the Indian readers, 21 degree Fahrenheit is around -6 degree Celsius. 21 Fahrenheit is an ice bar in Mumbai where everything is made of ice, starting from curtains to glasses. Don’t worry, you won’t freeze to death here cause the restaurant provides gloves, jackets and boots to the customers. In a hot place like Mumbai, this restaurant is a much needed respite.
3) Nature’s Toilet Cafe, Ahmedabad
This toilet themed restaurant also has a toilet garden which has toilets that date back to as far as 1950s. You get to sit on toilet seats and eat food here. The actual loo inside the restaurant carries the sign “Haash”.
4) Hijackk Restaurant, Ahmedabad
This is an actual moving bus where you sit inside and eat while the bus moves around the city. This double decker bus can carry around 44 passengers and travels around 45 kilometres at the speed of 40 kmph. Doesn’t feel like an actual hijack at all.
5) Silver metro, Bangalore
If one can eat inside buses, can metros be far behind? This one’s stationary though. The interiors of this restaurant looks exactly like a metro, and unlike the real metro where you aren’t allowed to eat, you can eat as much as you want to here.
6) The Bar Stock Exchange, Mumbai
This bar works the way stock exchange does. Every time demand of a drink increases, the price increases too. A drink can be the cheapest as well as the costliest depending on the demand.
7) New Lucky Restaurant, Ahmedabad
This restaurant has a new definition of luck apparently. The restaurant has three graves inside it and the owner Krishnan Kutty thinks that these coffins bring him good luck. May you eat in peace here.
8) GOYO, Auroville
The only reason to open your mouth in this Korean restaurant is to have food. At this “silent” restaurant, you aren’t allowed to speak. The restaurant requires prior booking and serves silent lunch three times a week. The food here is mostly vegan and the restaurant can only accommodate 10 people at a time. Remember, shh!
9) Kaidi Kitchen, Chennai
Wanna feel like a kaidi (prisoner)? Head out to this prison themed restaurant in Chennai where you are locked up inside cells and served food. Even the workers here are dressed like prisoners and police inspectors. For those who haven’t been to jail, get your jail experience here.
