Chanakya, also known as Kautilya, was the advisor of Chandragupt Maurya. He is renowned for his books ‘Chanakya Neeti’, ‘Arthashastra’ and ‘Nitishastra’. He is known as the ‘Pioneer of Economics’ in India. His literature is studied not only here but all over the world. Chanakya’s views on economics, politics and state warfare hold true even today. Here is a look at some of his quotes which, though written in 4th century, have just as much an impact now!
Harsh but true!
Chanakya was famous for his arrogance and straight forwardness. He had sworn to take revenge by de-throning the Nanda King and hence he, very manipulatively, made Chandragupt Maurya the King. It is said that he ruled from behind the king and was mostly responsible for the prosperity of Gupta Dynasty!
How Chanakya died is still a mystery as there are various versions of the story. Whatever the story, Chanakya definitely was a man much ahead of his times!
